Three Issues for the Church
We believe there are three issues that are from heaven, that have always been there.
We the Church tend to forget these issues. At New Life Assembly, we strive to strengthen and recognize these.
THE ISSUE OF PRAYER
One of the issues is intercession in prayer. The Savior is our example, who makes intercession for the saints (Romans 8:26). The model of the Lord's Prayer is also our example (Matthew 6:9). We believe prayer is a lifestyle, not just a certain time set aside (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
THE ISSUE OF WORSHIP
Worship is the one thing men can do that is also being done in heaven, day and night (Revelation 4:8). Worship is not bound by being in a church or certain location; instead those that worship the Lord must worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:23).
Worship starts not when the first note played, but when a heart lies bowed before His throne. in other words, the former requires the later. The Church needs to echo the heart of the Psalmist, who says, let everything that has breath praise the Lord (Psalms 150:6).
THE ISSUE OF HIS ABIDING PRESENCE
The presence of God is the confirming factor of all things the Church desires to accomplish in service. It is His presence by which we witness and disciple (Matthew 28:20). Without His presence, what we do is empty.
When we speak of presence, we believe Jesus is currently working in the New Testament church through the Holy Spirit, which is the presence of the Lord. We believe the presence of God is crucial, both corporately (Matthew 18:20) and individually (1 Corinthians 6:19).
